T. E. Newton

Funeral services for T. E. Newton, 88 of Shreveport, were held at 10 a.m. 
Wednesday at the Marshall Street Chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home.
Interment followed in the Arlington Cemetery of El Dorado.
Mr. Newton was a retired accountant for Salley Grocery Co. in Shreveport 
where he had resided since 1942.  He was a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church
and the Bernice Masonic Lodge.
Masonic graveside rites were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the cemetery
in Arlington.
Survivors include a son, T. Fain Newton of Rialto, Calif.; two daughters,
Mrs. Jo Ann Johnson and Mrs. Ruth Ann Barnes, both of Shreveport; five
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jack Salley, Van Salley, Truett Salley, Fred Salley, Charles
Vestal and Tom Pennell.
The family requests that any memorial contributions be made to Broadmoor
Baptist Church.
