McAdams as principal and Thos. McAdams his security are held and firmly bound unto Robert C. Wickliff Governor of the State of Louisiana for the time being, and his successors in office, in the sum of five hundred to the true and faithful payment thereof we bind ourselves, our heirs and assigns on this 2nd day of August A.D. 1856. The condition of the above obligation is such, that whereas the said James R. McAdams has applied to the Clerk of the said 12th District Court in and for said parish, for license to marry Miss Mary Ann Tubbs. Now, therefore, if it shall appear that no legal cause exist why said license should not be granted, and said marriage consumated, the above obligation to be null and void, or else to remain in full force and effect. McAdams and Miss Mary Ann Tubbs of your Parish, and that you perform said act according to the laws and usages of the State of Louisiana, and make return hereof to the office of the Clerk of the 12th District Court, in and for said Parish, according to law.
