State of Louisiana, Parish of Union, 12th District court

    Know all men by these presents, That we, Benjamin TAYLOR as principal and 
Daniel LAWERY his security are held and firmly bound unto Joseph Walker, 
Governor of the State of Louisiana for the time being, and his successors in 
office, in the sum of Five hundred dollars to the true and faithful payment 
thereof we bind ourselves, our heirs and assigns on this the 25th day of June 
A. D. 1852

    The condition of the above obligation is such, that whereas the said 
Benj. TAYLOR has applied to the Clerk of the said 12th District Court in and 
for said parish, for license to marry Miss Maria McADAMS.  Now, therefore, if 
it shall appear that no legal cause exist why said license should not be 
granted and said marriage consummated the above obligation to be null and 
void, or else to remain in full force and effect.  Signed and acknowledged on 
the day and date above written

The state of Louisiana, Parish of Union
To any authorized Minister of the Gospel, or any Justice of the Peace in and 
for the Parish of Union, Greeting.  You are hereby authorized to celebrate 
the Rites of Matrimony between Benjamin TAYLOR and Miss Maria McADAMS of your 
Parish, and that you perform said act according to the laws and usages of the 
State of Louisiana, and make return hereof to the office of the Clerk, of the 
12th District Court, in and for said Parish according to law.
    Given under my hand and seal of office, on this the 25th day of June A. 
D. 1852.

    I, J. A. Lee, J. P., do hereby certify, that in pursuance of the above 
license, I did proceed to celebrate the Rites of Matrimony, between Benjamin 
TAYLOR and Miss Maria McADAMS the parties named in said license, on the date 
hereof, according to the laws and usages of the State of Louisiana.  
    In testimony whereof, I have hereunto signed my name, and caused the said 
parties to sign their names in the presence of the subscribing witness on 
this the 27 day of June A. D. 1852.
