MAURICE VILLIEN Milton, LA Maurice Villien, a successful and energetic merchant and planter of Ward 4, is a native of Savoie, France, and came to the United States when a young man, locating in Louisiana. He first was engaged in business in New Orleans, later, Iberia; and subsequently removed to Vermilion parish. In all these places he has been engaged in merchandising. Maurice Villien has two living children, Joseph A., M. D., and John. Dr. Joseph Villien was born in Vermilion parish, and received his literary education at St. Charles College, Grand Coteau, graduating with the degrree of B. A. in 1887. Immediately after his graduation Joseph A. Villien began the study of medicine under the direction ot Dr. M. R. Cushman. In 1887 he matriculated in the medical college of the Tulane University, of Louisiana, from which institution he graduated in 1890. He is a member of Attakapas Medical Association, also a member of the C. K. of A., at Abbeville, of which he was financial secretary in 1891. John Villien is now attending school in Grand Coteau. All the family are practical Roman Catholics.
