This record is from the civil war pension application file, Louisiana State Archives. The attached document addresses property that was owned by Adele Royer in Delcambre, Vermilion Parish. Succession of No. 1323 Mrs. Adele Royer Simon (maiden name Bouillion, 1st husband Royer, 2nd husband Simon) 14th Judicial District Court Parish of Jefferson Davis State of Louisiana Judgement recognizing heirs and sending them into possession of property: In this case the Sheriff and Tax Collector in and for he Parish of Jefferson Davis, Louisiana, having declined to traverse, upon motion of Miller & Miller, attorneys, the cause was taken up at Chambers and after due consideration and hearing had, and the law and the evidence being in favor thereof, - It is therefore ordered, adjudged and decreed, that Mrs. Emetile Begnaud, born Royer, wife of Willis Begnaud, Sidney Pierre Royer, Joseph Royer, Moise Royer, Alix Marie Royer, Clovis Royer, Aurelien Royer and Marie Joycie Royer, be and they are recognized as the sole heirs of the said desedent(sic), Mrs. Adele (sometimes spelled Adel) Royer Simon, and as such they are formally sent into possession, in the proportion as fixed by law, of the following described property, to wit: One certain lot or parcel of ground being situated in the Village of Delcambre, in the Parish of Vermilion, State of Louisiana, measuring fifty (50) feet North and South and one (100) feet East and West, and being bounded on the North, South and East by land belonging to Jean Trahan and ton the East by Central Street, being the (?) property acquired by said deceased, in the name of Adele Bouillon, from Jean Trahan on the (?) 1st day of August, (?), as per deed recorded in Volume 110 of Conveyance, page 561, under No. 53456(?), records of Vermilion Parish, Louisiana, together with all improvements thereon, Release due on a State Pension Claim, bearing the style and Number: "Mrs. Adel Royer Simon, #8773", amounting to the balance of Forty and 65/100 ($40.65) Dollars. It is further ordered, adjudged and decreed, that said heirs be and they are dispensed with the payment of inheritance taxes, This done and signed at Chambers, at Lake Charles, Louisiana, this 27th day of September, A.
