BAYOU TIGRE 

The community of Bayou Tigre, built on the waterway near the prevent 
town of Erath, once sported stores, a school, a blacksmith shop, a 
doctor and a drug store. But when the Iberia and Vermilion railroad 
passed it by and August Erath built his town on the rail line, Bayou 
Tigre's fortunes diminished.
