I don't know the name of his first wife, but it would have been sometime between 1930 & 1940. He was working in the oil fields in the Abbeville area at that time. I am the "lookup" for the 6 counties covered by the South TX Gen. Soc. -Bee, Karnes, Live Oak, Refugio, Goliad & San Patricio - if I can help anyone there, let me know. Kay Pacheco - Beeville, TX Email:kpacheco@fnbnet.net ISTRE or EAST Date: 28 Jan 1998 --Would like to hear from anyone who has connections or is researching this surname. Have lots of info I will share. Alvenia Thibodeaux email:pipthib@iAmerica.net MORGAN Date: 22 Nov, 1977 In searching Confederate Soldiers LA page I found what I believe is my Grandfather, Oliver Morgan. He served with the 8th. La. Inf. as a Pvt., Co., C from June 19,1861 at Camp Moore until Aug., 1864. He enlisted at the age of 17, single and resided in Vermilion Parish and also listed his birth place as LA., but his place of birth is unknown. Listed his occupation as farmer, but was the regiment teamster. He is listed in the alphabetical roll of official records of the individual Confederate Soldier as well as US records, and state official rolls, page 1051. I would appreciate any info you can furnish. Ruth A. McVey Email:mac@lcc.net
