Joseph Abshire, the young man who was stabbed in the back by Olivier Richard 
on the 13th of Feb. in a drunken row which took place at Philogene 
Meanseau's on Queue Tortue, died last Wednesday after great suffering. His 
death resulted from spinal paralysis due to injury of the spinal cord.

The case of Polive Meanceaux charged with having harbored the Richard 
Brothers, who are under indictment for the murder of Joseph Abshire on Queue 
Tortue last Mardi Gras, and who have been fugitives from justice ever since, 
occupied the attention of Judge Green yesterday.

The trial of the Richard brothers for the killing of Joseph Abshire, on 
Queue Tortue, last February, has been set for next Thursday the 14th. Much 
interest will be displayed in the trial, and will be watched with interest. 
Messrs. Lastie Broussard and J. R. Kitchell will conduct the defense.
