A private burial will follow at a later date at Consolata Cemetery in Lake Charles. Reverend Gary Schexnayder, Pastor of St. Michael Catholic Church in Crowley will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Survivors include his wife, Marion Hardey Gayle; two sons, Sean Gayle and his wife Patricia Gayle of Gueydan and Kevin Gayle and his wife Betty Gene Gayle of Lafayette; two grandsons, Kevin Gayle Jr. and his wife Tiffany Gayle of Lafayette and James Gayle of Gueydan; one sister, Bernice Lowry and one brother, Kevin Patrick Gayle of Lake Charles and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by four stepchildren, Matt Hardey, Jane Gauthier, Dr. Kim Hardey and Kay Frentz and their children. He is predeceased by his parents, William J. and Bernice Foley Gayle; his first wife, Margaret Sayres Gayle and his son, Dr. Terrence Gayle. Mr. Gayle was born October 28, 1915 in Lake Charles, one of seven children and attended Landry High School and Louisiana State University. In between high school and college he served honorable in the United States Army in General MacArthur’s headquarters. He was involved in the planning of many of the Pacific battles and helped in the terms of surrender of the Japanese to the United States. Mr. Gayle was a long-term resident of Gueydan overseeing the family agriculture business. While living there, he served his community and church as a member of the American Legion, VFW, Rotary Club, Knights of Columbus and other civic organizations. He also served as a member of the board of the Bank of Gueydan for 33 years and as the chairman for 26 years. Mr. Gayle was an avid golfer and was a founding member of Bayou Bend Country Club in Crowley. His will and engaging personality, along with his tenacity, will never be forgotten by his family and friends. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Martin and Castille Funeral Home Tuesday, April 26 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. until time of service. Honorary pallbearers include Kevin Gayle Jr., James Gayle, William J. Gayle III, Don Theriot, Dale LeBlanc, Curtis Chastant, J. C. Petry, Dr. Kim Hardey, Jim Gauthier, Matt Hardey and Ron Frentz. Visitation will resume Monday from 8 a.m. until the time of services. Ms. Gisclair died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005, at a local hospital. Ms. Gisclair enjoyed her farm, growing her own mums and sharing her love of family by gathering for holidays. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and AARP. Prior to her retirement, she owned and operated Landry's Store in Abbeville. She is survived by five nephews, Ricky Meaux and Robert Gisclair, both of Abbeville, Paul and Charles Gisclair, both of New Iberia, and Steven Meaux of Garland, Texas; six nieces, Rebecca Webb and Frances Bercier, both of Lafayette, Joyce Anderson, Gloria Hollier and Josephine "Phiny" Lacour, all of Abbeville, and Maxine Gisclair of New Iberia and several great nieces and nephews. Ms. Gisclair was preceded in death by her father, Oneziphore Gisclair; her mother, Leonie Luent Gisclair; her brother, Francis Gisclair; and four sisters, Lillian Meaux, Eulisie "Meon" Frederick, and Anite and Pauline Gisclair. A2 column 4 Born: Feb 24, 1924 GUEYDAN — A memorial service will follow the 10:30 a.m. Mass today, Jan. 9, from St. Peter Catholic Church of Gueydan for Frank W. Guidry, 80, who died Friday, Jan. 7, 2005, in Gueydan Memorial Guest Home. The Rev. Mitchell Guidry will officiate. Mr. Guidry has kept true to Him, and now the time has come for him to stop fighting and rest. Frank Wilson Guidry was born Feb. 24, 1924. He was the son of Eloi and Naomi LeBoeuf Guidry. He and his wife were married for 57 years. He worked for Lu Lu Broussard for many years before he opened his own business along with Floyd Touchet. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and sister. After graduation from Gueydan High School he joined the Navy Seabees; one of the places he served was Iwo Jima. He loved to fish, play pool and cards, visit with friends and plant a small vegetable garden. He donated his body to the LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans. Survivors include his wife, Gracie Guidry of Gueydan; three sons, Rickey Guidry and wife Sally and Ed Guidry and wife Lori, all of Gueydan, and Kerry Blaine Guidry of Lake Charles; one daughter, Geraldine "Geri" G. Swopes and husband Randy of Lake Charles; one sister, Thelma Owens of Port Arthur, Texas; two half-brothers, L.J. and Donald Guidry, both of Lafayette; six grandchildren, Brian, Lance and Heather Benoit and Brad, Kade and Draeh Guidry; and five greatgrandchildren, Derek Benoit, Harmony and Kristopher Trahan, Kyouhna Benoit and Lena Benoit. Crowley Post Feb 2005 GUEYDAN – Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 1 at a 1 p.m. Mass of Christian burial in St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Lucille V. Guidry, 88, who died Jan. 30, 2005 at the Gueydan Memorial Guest Home. She will be laid to rest at Gueydan Cemetery with Rev. Mitchel Guidry officiating the services. A rosary was prayed Monday at 7 p.m. Mrs. Guidry was a hairdresser in Gueydan for 30 years. She was a past member of the Ladies Altar Society of St. Peter's Church. She is survived by a son, Kenneth Guidry and his wife the former Mary Taylor of Natchitoches; one daughter, Linda G. and her husband Wayne Zaunbrecher of Gueydan; two sisters, Jeanette Fernandez of Morgan City and Margie Hartwell of Gueydan; six grandchildren, Katherine, Paul, Craig and Mary Elizabeth Guidry all of Natchitoches, Alison Z. and her husband Dewy Domingues of Erath and Andrea Z. and her husband Chris Herpin of Kaplan and seven great grandchildren, Tyler, Philip, Samuel and Matthew Domingues of Erath and Victoria, Michaela and Ridge Herpin all of Kaplan. Guidry Sr., 87, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at David Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery in Erath. Visiting hours will be observed today from 1:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 6 p.m. at David Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Tuesday at 8 a.m. until time of service. A native and resident of Abbeville, Mr. Guidry died at 5:35 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, 2005, at Rapides General Hospital in Alexandria. Born Nov. 13, 1918, Mr. Guidry is the son of Antime and Alidia “Blanche” Boudreaux Guidry. Mr. Guidry was a self-employed building contractor. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army, during World War II, and was a member of the Erath American Legion and Woodmen of the World. He is survived by his children, Larry Guidry and wife Mary of Bedford, Texas, Pat Pitre and husband Michael of New Iberia, and P.J. Guidry and wife Vicki of Abbeville; a brother, Frank Guidry of Abbeville; a sister, Louise Falgout of Erath; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Mr. Guidry was preceded in death by his wife, Effie Marie Guidry; parents, Antime and Alidia “Blanche” Boudreaux Guidry; four sisters, Elida Guidry, Nola Frederick, Nolia Frederick and Anna Falgout; two brothers, Clopha and Royce Guidry; and a grandson, Richard Guidry.
