Interment will follow in Pleasant Green Baptist Cemetery. Visiting hours will be observed Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Mrs. Johnson died at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005, at the Heart Hospital of Lafayette. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Lighthouse for Jesus Ministries in Abbeville. She served as Minister, Remnant Seed Choir Member and Teacher at the Lighthouse Christian Academy under the Leadership of Pastor Donnie Bolden Sr. and Prophetess Ann Bolden. She is survived by her husband, James Johnson; four sons, Demond Jarrell Charles, Kente Tremaine Charles, Colby Tron Johnson and Tekoah Wayne Donte Johnson; a daughter, Kioki Travonn Johnson all of Abbeville; three brothers, Lloyd Rankin Sr. of Meaux, Walter Paul Lessin II and Danny Lee Rankin both of Abbeville; five grandchildren, Diemyiah Charles, Troy Tra’maine Viltz, John Lofton, Diamond Francis and Kente Tremaine Charles; three special sons, Seth Suire, John Lofton and Darrin Weekly; two special sisters, Cheryl Thibeaux and Vera Wiltz; four nieces, Montiee Broussard, Shalonda Washington, Deandra Rankin and Kelly Rankin; five nephews, Trevor Lessin, Walter Paul Lessin III, Lloyd Chip Rankin Jr., Robert Washington and Allen Washington Jr.; two aunts, Ethel Rankin Harris and Lorena Rankin of Abbeville; and three uncles, Herman Rankin of Gulfport, Miss., Elton Rankin of Baton Rouge and Roy Harris of Abbeville. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Paul Lessin I and Grace Rankin; and a brother, Leonard Ranklin. Pallbearers will be Lloyd Rankin Sr., Demond Charles, Kente Charles, Lloyd Rankin Jr., Elder Dale Thomas and Elder Calvin Broussard Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Colby Johnson, Tekoah Johnson, James Johnson and Herman Rankin. Fletcher Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of the arrangements.
