American Press:2006 Dec 11 GUEYDAN — Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church of Gueydan for Tammy Lynn Melancon Gotte, 40, who died Sunday, Dec. 10, at Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital after a struggle with cancer. Interment will be in Gueydan Cemetery. The Rev. Mitchell Guidry will conduct the service. Mrs. Gotte was a native of Raceland and a resident of Gueydan. She loved spending time with her family, camping, fishing, cooking and dancing. Survivors include her husband, Michael T. Gotte Sr. of Gueydan; two sons, Cory S. Melancon and Blake S. Lougon, both of Gueydan; one stepson, Michael T. Gotte Jr. of Gueydan; one daughter, Michaela P. Gotte of Gueydan; one stepdaughter, Lexie S. Gotte of Gueydan; her mother and stepfather, Dorothy Leblanc Wiltz and Ferdie P. Wiltz of Henderson; her maternal grandmother, Dora Dugas of Lake Arthur; two brothers, Brian W. Melancon and Ryan J. Melancon and his wife, Amy, all of Thidodaux; five sisters, Rhonda P. Lougon and her husband, Glynn, of Gueydan, Matherine Landry and her husband, Daniel, of Moss Bluff, Gwen M. Cortez and her husband, Craig, of Kraemer, Wendy K. Rodichaux and her husband, Ruffin, of Thidodaux, and Chrystal B. Breaux and her husband, Jonathan, of Lake Arthur; her godson, Auto D. Breaux; eight nieces; 13 nephews; two great-nieces; and nine great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence “C. J.” Melancon; her paternal grandfather, Clarence Antoine Melancon; her paternal grandmother, Noella Boudoin Melancon; her maternal grandfather; Ellis LeBlanc; and her former husband, Barry P. Leger. Daily Iberian Friday, October 13, 2006 DELCAMBRE — Services for Mrs. Gussie Goutierrez, the former Eldora Broussard, 91, are pending for Saturday at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in Our Lady of the Lake Mausoleum. Visiting hours will be observed today from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 7 p.m. at Evangeline Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Saturday at 8 a.m. until the time of service. A native of Erath and resident of Delcambre, Mrs. Goutierrez died at 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, 2006, at East Ridge Nursing Center in Abbeville. She is survived by her son, Leewood Goutierrez and wife Dorothy of Delcambre; two grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Mrs. Goutierrez was preceded in death by her husband, Gussie Goutierrez; a daughter, Audrey G. Comeaux; parents, Clesme Broussard Sr. and Clodora Vincent Broussard; five brothers, Theodore, C.M., Clifford, Chester and Wilbert Broussard; and five sisters, Laura Boudreaux, Lota Menard, Etta Romero, Louise Romero and Loria Roberts. Evangeline Funeral Home of Delcambre is in charge of the arrangements GREENHAW, Lillian Abshire LCAP 02/21/2006 LAKE ARTHUR — The funeral for Mrs. Lillian Abshire Greenhaw, 91, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, from Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. The Rev. Clyde Thomas will officiate. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery under direction of Miguez Funeral Home. Funeral home visitation is 4-10 p.m. today — with a rosary led by the Catholic Daughters at 7 p.m. — and from 8 a.m. Wednesday. She was a native of Crowley. She had lived in Welsh a year and a half, moving there from Lake Arthur. Mrs. Greenhaw’s life was her home and flowers. She loved to plant flowers and loved being a housekeeper, as well as visiting with family and friends. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, where she was a lay minister and a member of the Ladies Altar Society. Survivors include one daughter, Lee Ann David Kratzer and husband Craig Kratzer of Roanoke; one stepdaughter, Janet Brune of Fort Worth, Texas; one daughter-in-law, Mary Del David of Klondike; three sons, Burton David and wife Juanita David of Lake Arthur, Cecil David and wife Cheryl David of Jennings, and Johnny David and wife Carol David of Klondike; one stepson, Gary Greenhaw of Denton, Texas; three sisters, Anna Bell David of Lafayette and Pearl Guidry and Norma Jean Sonnier, both of Lyons Point; three brothers, Ophed Abshire of Crowley, Ellis Abshire of Dayton, Texas, and LeRoy Abshire of Milton; many nieces and nephews; 22 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Turbert and Mary Trahan Abshire; her first husband and father of her children, Percy David; second husband, Ruel Greenhaw; one son, Ronald David; one sister, Vivian Abshire; two brothers, Austin and Clifton Abshire; and one grandson, Kent David. GUIDRY, Joseph LCAP 07/06/2006 BELL CITY — Joseph “Bee” Guidry, 79, passed away Wednesday July 5, 2006, in a local hospital. He was a native of Vermilion Parish and lived in Bell City. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, he retired from Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development after 25 years of service. He was also a member of the VFW and American Legion Post 403 of Lake Arthur. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Nedia Guidry; son, Wayne Joseph Guidry of Bell City; three daughters, Barbara Dean Walker and husband Greg of Lacassine, Patricia Ann Guidry and husband David of Bell City and Cathy Bishop and husband Carl of Westlake; four brothers, Rodney, Tee, Leo, and George Guidry; two sisters, Ouida Guillory and Willie Mae Holland; 13 grandchildren; and nine great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lua and Alace Guidry, brother, Ivan Guidry, sister, Irene Miller and great-grandson, Nakota Seth Guidry. His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 7, in Hixson Funeral Home Chapel in Welsh. The Rev. Albert Borel will officiate. Burial will be in Lorraine Derouen Cemetery.
