 QUIBODEAUX, Eugene    The Daily Advertiser  March 8, 2006
ABBEVILLE - Eugene Quibodeaux, 77, passed away on March 6, 2006, at Abbeville General
Hospital. He retired in 1989 after 38 years with Southern Pacific Railroad as a station and
zone agent in Louisiana and Texas. In the 50's he played bass fiddle with Frank "TT" Mailhes'
Sundown Playboys and A.B. Sonnier's Louisiana Swingsters. Survivors include his children,
Roderick Quibodeaux and wife, Joan, of Diamonhead, Miss., Stephan Quibodeaux and wife, Joanie,
of Abbeville, La., and Roxanne Linscomb and husband, Michael, of Dallas, Texas; nine
grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by siblings, Vivian Kidder, of
Lafayette, La., Jeanette Simon, of Laurel, Miss., and Bill Quibodeaux, of Houston, Texas. He
was preceded in death by his parents, Atyole Quibodeaux and Lexita Q. Onxley; and brothers,
Ernest, Fred and Curlin. He generously donated his body to LSU Medical Center. A memorial
service will be held at New Life Church, 1109 North Lafitte Road, Abbeville, on Saturday,
March 11, 2006, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to
the American Cancer Society.
