Father Avelino Vale will officiate for the services. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visiting hours will be observed Sunday from noon until 10 p.m. and continue Monday from 8 a.m. until service time. A rosary will be recited Sunday at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Survivors include one son, Larry Thibodeaux and his wife, Shirline of Abbeville; four brothers, Cornelius Melancon of Crowley, Andrew Melancon of Rayne, Buster Melancon of Rayne and Bobby Melancon of Bossier City; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Interment will be in the Gueydan Garden Crypt Mausoleum. The Rev. Mitchell Guidry will conduct the service. Mrs. Thibodeaux was a native of Yorktown, Texas and a resident of Gueydan. She was a Wave in the U.S. Navy. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America for over 50 years and she was a volunteer with Crowley Mental Health for 40 years. Survivors include her husband, Aurelian Thibodeaux, of Gueydan; one son, Gordon Thibodeaux and his wife, Molly R., of China; two daughters, Brenda Gardiner and her husband, G.L. "Skip", of Gueydan and Karen T. Krielow, of Lafayette; one sister, Inez Turner, of Tulare, Calif.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The Daily Advertiser February 10, 2006 GUEYDAN - Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006, at a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church for Floyd J. Touchet, 83, who died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006, at Lafayette General Medical Center. Interment will be in Gueydan Cemetery. The Rev. Mitchell Guidry will be officiating the services. Selected readings will be read by Laura Theriot, granddaughter. Mr. Touchet was born June 14, 1922 and was a lifelong resident of Gueydan. He was a retired rice farmer and cattle rancher and was still actively involved in raising cattle. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Eza Saltzman Touchet, of Gueydan; one son, Ken Touchet, of Gueydan; three daughters, Susan and her husband, Dale Thibodeaux, of Gueydan, Brenda Theriot, of Vicksburg, Miss., and Lana Broussard, of Gueydan; one sister, Gladys Touchet Adams, of Gueydan; seven grandsons; one granddaughter; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Enis and Edmonia Meaux Touchet; an infant sister, Madlyn; and one son, Anthony Touchet. Visitation will be observed from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. today and will continue from 9 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Saturday when the procession will depart for the church. He was a shipping clerk with Allen Smith for 20 years and a shipping clerk with Broussard Rice Mill for 20 years and then he retired. He was a former member of the CFMA. He loved to play music, especially the steel guitar with different people and he loved to cook. Survivors include his wife, Theresa Lee Touchet of Gueydan; two daughters, Diana Cormier and her husband, Martin of Crowley; and Donna Kibodeaux and her husband, Ross of Gueydan; his mother, Ida C. Touchet of Gueydan; four brothers, Irvin Touchet of Gueydan; Lloyd Touchet of Gueydan; Henry Touchet of Gueydan; and Lassley Touchet of Abbeville; five sisters, Evelyn Richard of Gueydan; Rose Cormier of Gueydan; Ruby Saltzman of Kaplan; Celestine LaComb of Gueydan; and Beatrice Ryder of Morse; six grandchildren; and one great grandchild. TOUCHET, Linus American Press:2006 Nov 16 GUEYDAN — Linus Touchet, 73, died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006, in a Lafayette hospital. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 17, from St. Peter Catholic Church. Burial will be in Gueydan Cemetery under the direction of Matthews and Son Funeral Home. TRAHAN, Dalton LCAP 03/03/2006 Dalton Trahan, 92, died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006, in his residence. He was a native of Abbeville, and he lived most of his life in Lake Charles. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, where he served as an usher for 50 years, served as vice president, along with receiving the Outstanding Service and Dedication Award in 1970. He was a member of the Holy Name Society, serving as president, and the southwest central committee, serving as president and treasurer. He served as deputy sheriff for six years and was a Navy veteran. He was a member of the Grand Knights and received a Superb Service Award in 1981 and an award for appreciation in 1975 and 1976. He was a member of Vernon W. Joseph Assembly 22, a faithful captain 1977-1983 and faithful navigator in 1984 and 1987. He received two Good Neighbor awards and the Man of the Year award in 1983. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 4, from Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. The Rev. Tim Goodly will officiate. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of King’s Funeral Home. Visitation is 8-9:30 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
