Numa Broussard. - The scenes of this life are closed to Mr. P. Numa Broussard, who passed from this earth last Sunday morning at 6:30, at his home in this city, after an illness of several years. Mr. Broussard had been up and down all through his illness, and passed away rather suddenly, not being seriously ill at the time. He was 57 years, 11 months and 12 days of age. The funeral was held from the Catholic Church, Monday, January 25th, at noon, and was exceptionally largely attended by numerous relatives, friends and acquaintances of the family. Interment was made in the new Catholic cemetery. Mr. Broussard was a native of this parish, but had resided for a number of years in Jefferson county Texas, where he was married to Miss Clarice Broussard. He was a prominent and wealthy farmer, and had served as a member of the police jury from the Third Ward. He is survived by his widow and eleven children, C. C. Broussard, a merchant of this city; E. E. Broussard, a lumberman, of Gueydan; P. U. Proussard [sic], a lumberman of this city, and also mayor of the city of Abbeville; R. J. Broussard, of this city; Mrs. Charles La Salle, of Orange, Texas; Miss Maggie Broussard, of this city; Fernest Broussard, of this city; Fernand Broussard, of Cade, La.; Theo Broussard of this city; Loyd Broussard, of Gueydan; and Lull Broussard, of this city. Card of Thanks. - We take this method of thanking our relatives and friends for kindress [sic] and sympathy shown us in our recent bereavement, the illness and death of our husband and father, P. Numa Broussard, and especially to Mrs. Zelmaire Trahan and Mr. and Mrs. Sosthene Herpin. - THE FAMILY.
