Mrs. Z. B. Broussard. - The death of Mrs. Z. B. Broussard, nee Mary Eve 
Thibodeaux, and wife of our esteemed clerk of court, at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, of 
this week came as a shock to the entire community. Although Mrs. Broussard had 
been sick for the past several weeks, it was not thought that she would be taken 
from the midst so suddenly, but at about 11 o'clock that morning she took 
suddenly ill, and continued getting worse until her death came.

The funeral was held from the Catholic church Wednesday afternoon; leaving the 
residence at 3:30, attended by one of the largest crowds ever assembled in this 
city, to bid their last farewell.

The remains were taken to the new Catholic cemetery, where they were laid to 
rest.

The pall bearers were Messrs. P. U. Broussard, F. L. Melebeck, C. A. Schilling, 
R. W. Bernard, Jules J. Broussard, Camile Broussard, J. H. McCan and W. S. Hays.

The local camps of the Woodmen of the World and the Woodman Circle attended the 
funeral in a body.

Besides her husband she is survived by three children, Warren, Harris and 
Regina; one step daughter, Miss Lillian; one brother, Mr. Aremis Thibodeaux, of 
Port Arthur; and four sisters, Mrs. Paul Montagne and Mrs. Jasper Corning of 
Port Arthur, and Mrs. P. V. Broussard, of this city, and Miss Thibodeaux, at 
home.

Our sympathies go out to the family in their deep misfortune, occasioned by this 
sad event.
