(Abbeville, Louisiana) Saturday, November 24, 1928, page 1 Mrs. Lozan Comeaux Dies at Her Home Near Maurice. - Mrs. Lozan Comeaux, nee Azena Broussard died at her home in the Fourth Ward, near Maurice, at 12:05 o'clock Saturday morning, aged 87 years. The funeral, which was declared the largest ever held at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, took place Sunday morning at 9:00 o'clock at Requiem High Mass, with Reverend Father Pierre Gruel conducting the service. Interment was made in the Maurice Catholic Cemetery. Members of the Ladies Altar Society, of which Mrs. Comeaux was a faithful and devoted member, attended the service in a body. The pallbearers consisting of six grandchildren of Mrs. Comeaux, were: Honore Comeaux, of LeRoy, La.; Ralla Foreman, of Lafayette parish; Leonard, Mayo and Voorhies Comeaux, all of Vermilion parish; and Riley Boudreaux, of Crowley, La. There were many beautiful floral offerings. The funeral arrangements were in charge of A. A. Crouchet, with the Dauterive Undertaking Company, of Lafayette.
