VERMILION PARISH VETERAN OF WORLD WAR IS SUICIDE. - (Special to the Advertiser). 
ABBEVILLE, Aug. 31 - Theodule Duhon, aged 30 years, a veteran of the World War, 
committed suicide Friday night by shooting himself in the left breast, over the 
heart, with a double-barrel shotgun, after first failing to take his life by 
cutting himself in the neck with a razor blade.

The body was found in a barn, near his home, by his wife, this morning.

Mr. Duhon, who resided in the Fourth Ward of Vermilion parish, near 
Mauriceville, had been in ill health since his service in the war. In a note 
which he left, addressed to his wife and children, he declared "I am too sick to 
stay with you."

The deceased was a member of Vermilion Post of the American Legion, of 
Abbeville, and Legionnaires arranged to take part in the funeral services at 
5:30 this afternoon at the Mauriceville Catholic cemetery.

Mr. Duhon is survived by his widow, nee Eva Clark; three sons, Henry, Larry and 
Dennis, his mother, Mrs. Numa Duhon, two brothers, Ulysee and Elie Duhon, and 
nine sisters, Mrs. Jules Trahan, Mrs. Noah Breaux, Mrs. Ovey Lelande, Mrs. 
Adonis Duhon, Mrs. Oreter Breaux, Mrs. Orter Clark, Mrs. Roman Duhon, Mrs. 
Clarence Duhon, and Miss Edia Duhon, all of the Fourth Ward of Vermilion parish.

The funeral arrangements are in charge of Rene J. Delaunne, of Rayne.
