LCAP 4/17/1999 GUEYDAN -- Funeral services for George Edward Elliott, 76, will be at noon Sunday, April 18, in First United Methodist Church. The Revs. James R. Schaub and Grady Estilette will officiate. Burial will be in Gueydan Cemetery under direction of Matthews and Son Funeral Home. Visitation is from 10 a.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary. Mr. Elliott died at 7:12 a.m. Friday, April 16, 1999, in his residence. A lifelong resident of Gueydan, he was a butcher for 50 years. He was owner of Elliott's Slaughterhouse. He was an Army veteran and a member of the American Legion. He was a member of the United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Elmae Simon Elliott; three sons, James Elliott and Michael Elliott, both of Gueydan, and Rickey Elliott of Lafayette; two sisters, Mary Lee Elliott of Gueydan and Joyce Cormier of Jennings; eight grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren. ESKIND, Felix Felix Eskind, 77, of Lake Charles died, at 9:25 AM, Friday, November 05, 2004 in his residence. He was a native of Abbeville, LA and lived in Lake Charles most of his life. Mr. Eskind was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Painter?s Local #783. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, where he served as an usher for many years. Survivors include his wife, Joyce DeSoto Eskind of Lake Charles; four daughters, Deborah Eskind Papania, Brenda Eskind Belmer, Donna Sue Eskind, and Sharon Eskind Elkins all of Lake Charles; four sons, Gerald D. Eskind, Johnny R. Eskind, and Robert P. Eskind all of Lake Charles, and Jim Eskind of Atlanta, GA; twenty-one grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren; two stepdaughters, Theresa Pool of Orange, TX and Gloria Manuel of Bridge City, TX; two stepsons, Joe Cicardo of Gladewater, TX and Steven Champagne of Houston, TX; seven step grandchildren and one step great grandchild. Mr. Eskind is preceded in death by his wife of fifty-two years, Merle Mae Eskind, a son, Jerry W. Eskind, grandson, Michael W. Eskind and his parents, Janues Eskind and Aline Guillott. The body will be cremated with memorial graveside services being held at 11:00 AM, Sunday, November 7, 2004 from Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
