Guilbeau died suddenly at his home in Carencro Wednesday morning Aug 11, at 10 o'clock aged 56 years, 3 months and 13 days. He was taken sick Tuesday night and his death came as a shock the next morning to his many friends. He was a native of Lafayette parish and a member of a large and prominent family. He married Miss Armide Lague. He took an active interest in public affairs and served as a member of the Police Jury and the School Board and at the time of his death was charman(sic) of the Parish Democratic Committee. He is survived by his wife, three sons. Dearie, Leidlie and Delpher Guilbeau and one daughter, Mrs. Abel Bernard, and a number of brothers and sisters, among them Judge O. P. Guilbeau, and T. Guilbeau of Abbeville. Funeral services was held Thursday at St. Peter;s Catholic church in Carencro at 10 a. m.
