Dupleix Landry, died Thursday night of typhoid fever at his residence on the 
west side of the bayou just above town. He was a successful horseman and 
trainer.

Dupleix Landry habitant pres d’Abbeville, est mort chez lui vendredi de la 
semaine derniere de la fievre thyphoide. Il fut enterre a la Prairie Greig le 
lendemain. [Translation: Dupleix Landry of Abbeville, died at home Friday of the 
last week of typhoid. He was buried at Prairie Greig the next day.]
