(Abbeville, La.) 1856-1906, May 07, 1904, Image 3 Demosthene Meaux, an old resident of the 6th ward, who lived for many years on Coulee Kenney at the Mills pumping plant died rather suddenly last Thursday at the home home (sic) of his son Robert on Rushmere plantation, aged 70 years. He was an excellent citizen and highly esteemed. He was a widower, his wife having died several years ago. Mrs. John Stelly and his sons Lessin, Buck and Robert are among the children who survive. His remains were interred Friday in the graveyard at Coulee Kinney.
