Creamer marykcreamer.00@gmail.com January 24, 2023, 1:42 am source: The Dailey Advertiser (LA) Wednesday, December 26, 1928 Largely attended funeral services were held at the Catholic Church in Mauriceville for Pierre E. Simon, who died at his home in the Second Ward of this parish, at the age of 76 years. Interment took place in the Catholic cemetery in Mauriceville. There were many beautiful floral offerings. The pallbearers were Homer, August, Jules and Eugene Simon, sons of the deceased, and Alpheus Trahan and John Nugent, sons-in-law. Mr. Simon is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Eubert Trahan, Mrs. Alpheus Trahan and Mrs. Henry Hernandez, all of this parish, and Mrs. John Nugent, of Rayne; four sons, August Simon, member of the school board, Jules Simon, member of the police jury, and Homer and Eugene Simon, all of this parish; two brothers, Jean B. Simon and Jules Simon, both of this parish; 57 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren. The funeral arrangements were in charge of A. A. Crouchet, with the Dauterive Undertaking Company.
