MR. JOHN E. STRODE. - On Thursday, Oct. 23rd, Mr. John E. Strode passed 
away at his home in Abbeville after a short illness. His remains were 
brought to New Iberia for interment. The funeral services were conducted in 
the Methodist church and were attended by relatives and friends.

Mr. Strode was born in Harrison Co., Ohio, June 3rd, 1832. In his early 
childhood his parents removed to Morgan Co. near McConnelsville, Ohio, where 
he lived until 1904 when he came to Louisiana and entered into business at 
Abbeville. His wife, three sons, and five daughters survive him.

Mr. Strode was a brother in-law of Mrs. U. H. Riggs of New Iberia.
