Elander came from Thomas County, Georgia to Louisiana in 1858 and settled in "Old" Rapides Parish, now Vernon Parish, LA. T. J. On La. Hwy #465. The Bible was copied October 27, 1978 by: T. J. Lewis, 962 Tara Blvd., Baton Rouge, La. 70806 and witnessed by: Isaac Reed Lewis, Hwy 8 West, Simpson, La. 71446. The Bible was in the possession of: Elvis "Elvie" Blackwell, Vernon Parish, Hutton, La. Mr. Blackwell is a descendent of Elander "Landers" Nesmith. The size of the bible was approximate 10 X 11 and 2.5 inches thick.
