The following information was taken from the Major Henry Gill Bible.  
The son of John Robert Gill, Major Gill was born in Vernon Parish, 
near Leesville.  The Gill family lived in the Leesville and DeRidder 
areas.  Major Gill was one of the first sheriffs of Beauregard Parish.

Died:  July 31, 1946
Buried:  Castor Cemetery, Vernon Parish
The bible was copied on November 25, 1999 by April Gill Page.  The Bible 
is in the possession of Major Gill's grandson, Dr. William L. Gill of New 
Orleans, LA.  Dr. Gill received the Bible after the death of his father, 
William Wright Hardison Gill.
