BUNCH, CATHERINE
Catherine Bunch was born 6 March 1848 LA and died 26 March 1929 LA.  
She was the daughter of James Bunch and Mary Bass. She married first 
on 19 Oct 1865 in Rapides Parish to Richard Boyd (b. 1809 MS, d. 
after 1872 Vernon LA). He is buried on the old White homestead near 
the present day Laurel Hill Cemetery, Leander LA. Two children were 
born to this union. The issue: Mary Elizabeth Boyd (29 November 1869); 
William Jackson Boyd (17 February 1871) who married Martha Elizabeth 
Ingalls.

After his death, Catherine married second on 10 December 1876 to 
Charley Jefferson Burns (12 August 1848/1 May 1923 LA), and eight 
children were born. Catherine became a member of the Laurel Hill 
Baptist Church in 1890. Catherine & Charlie are buried in the 
Burns/Blair Cemetery in Rapides Parish.  

The issue: Charles Robert Burns (15 January 1880) who married 
Harriet Melanie Ingalls; Mary Jane Burns (7 Dec 1881) who married 
Thomas C. Ivey; Dora Estelle Burns (15 February 1884 who married 
James Robert Cutts; James Burns (15 February 1884); Nora Magaline 
Burns (8 May 1886) who married Elijah Matt Terrell; John Wesley 
Burns (19 October 1887) who married Rachel Spurgeon & Lottie Bush 
Ford; Veda Catherine Burns (17 Sep 1888) who married James Norvel 
Terrell; and Jessie Sanders Burns (21 February 1891) who married 
Laura Cornelia Walker.
