Jeane and Orelia McDonald. He married on 17 December 1890 in Vernon Parish to Laura Cordelia (?)(24 Oct 1872 LA / 1949 LA). They are buried in the large JEANE family plot in Cooper Cemetery, Pickering (Vernon) LA. In the 1900 US Population Schedules for Vernon LA, Dr. Jeane and his family were living in Ward 4. James M. Jeane (28 Mar 1844 / 9 Dec 1925) & Orelia Jeane (10 Mar 1848 / 4 Jun 1943) James William Jeane (7 Feb 1870 / 3 Nov 1947) Sam Jeane (25 Dec 1887 / 29 Aug 1949) Beulah Jeane (30 May 1890 / 22 Jun 1951) Joe Jeane (26 Sep 1894 / 12 Dec 1923) Dollie Jeane (28 Mar 1895 / 30 Mar 1899) Ida F. Jeane (4 Jul 1897 / 14 Mar 1956) From the records that Dr. Jeane kept, it appears that the first birth he delivered and recorded was on 29 May 1900 for his daughter, Cora Molora Jeane. Although Dr. Jeane and his wife had five children before Cora was born, there is no record of who delivered the older children. The last child he delivered and recorded was for William Martin Harrington on 31 May 1947, just five months before his death. In all, Dr. Jeane recorded 1,327 babies that he delivered between 1900 and 1947. Dr. Jeane's birth records can be located at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/la/vernon/biographies/jwjeane.txt
