Go 2.0 miles on blacktop road to Antioch Baptist Church on right side of road. Cemetery is located to the right of the Church, is fenced and well maintained. Genealogical information, not found on the tombstone, is included in brackets, and was provided by Pearl Cooley, Slagle, LA. Inscriptions copied by Jane P. McManus, April 1993, and updated 17 January 1995. HISTORY Antioch Baptist Church was organized in 1883, and was built on land donated by F. M. Bolton. The property was later sold to John S. Bolton in 1896, who then sold it to Christopher C. Hunt. In 1904, H. J. Hillman purchased 80 acres and sold one acre to the church for $1.00. Some of the original founders of the church were: Frank Bolton, Jim Stephens, Riley Hillman, Newton Williams, Jasper Williams, C. C. Hunt, Louis Robertson, Will Bolton, Dave Lawrence, and others. Early pastors were: Revs. Bill Gordy, Tom Crawford, Joseph Rudisill, Henry Cain, Ben Martin, Dave Martin, Allen Martin, (?) Masters, Jesse Fletcher, John Benton, Tim Behand, Jim Fountain, Alvin Sandel, Pat Cavanaugh, Frank Laurence, Willie Perkins, R. L. Chance, Charles Affman, Maris Dale Goins, Charlie Paul, and Leon Poe.
