Foster Burial - Vernon Parish

This single burial is located just off the US Hwy. 171 South of
Leesville.  In New Llano, cross the bridge and go approximately 1.6 miles
toward Rosepine.   Stop on the right side (West) of the highway just past
the skating rink, and walk up the hill (West).  The location is opposite
a Drive-in Liquor Store and White's Discount Furniture & Appliance
Store on the left.  The trees and brush are very thick on top of the hill,
but the full-size vault is just past the tree line. There was no
information inscribed on the vault.  This burial was located by Elton
Jackson
of Pickering, who contacted a daughter of the deceased to acquire the
name and dates for her parents. Elton took me to the site on 7 May 1996.

[Genealogical Note:  Mr. Foster was married on 28 Aug 1909 to Eileen
Alanna Parker, and they lived on the property where this burial is
located south of Leesville.  Eileen was born 2 July 1881 and died 12 July
1964.  She is buried in Cooper Cemetery, Pickering (Vernon) LA.]
