When the main highway makes a sharp 90-degree turn to the left, and almost immediately curves right, take the first unimproved road to the right. This road is called Parish Line road. In about .2 miles the road forks with the left fork going to a house. Continue straight ahead and part just past this fork. The burials are in the dense woods on the right side of the road, approximately 100 yards from the road. In the 1970's this cemetery was originally copied by DeAnn Parker of Simpson, Louisiana who also recorded several unmarked infant burials with no dates or information. In 1996, the brush and undergrowth was so thick in this area, the graves were almost reachable. Only with the aid of a machete was it possible to reach the burials from the rear. Although there is no fence around the burials, the vines and briars almost form a natural barrier to prohibit any approach to the graves. It was only with the greatest of luck that I spotted a piece of red fabric through the growth and was able to pinpoint the site. Two graves are in the midst of this jungle, each is encircled with large native rocks and rocks are piled on top of each burial. At the head of the graves, a large wooden cross has been built, with the remnants of a shirt attached to the crossbeam, such as might be placed to flag the spot. It was, however, impossible to see the cross or the fabric until I was right on top of it. No other burials were found. Tombstone Inscriptions copied by Jane P. McManus, 22 March 1996.
