From the Junction of LA Hwy. 121 & LA Hwy. 28, go 5.9 miles toward Alexandria.  
Turn right (south) onto Laurel Hill Road, and continue .1 mile on this dirt 
road. Scott Cemetery is located on the right behind a fenced area (gate is 
locked), and because of the overgrowth of brush and weeds, it is difficult to 
see from the road (approximately 50 feet away). A large cedar tree is in the 
center of the small burial ground. Although there are only four marked stones, 
there are several rows of identical, small wooden crosses placed at the head 
of unmarked graves. These crosses were all in good shape when cemetery was 
originally recorded in the 1970's, but there are only a few crosses visible 
today, some with only the upright section remaining. On 8 August 1962 in an 
interview between an older Vernon Parish resident, John Boswell, and local 
historian Billy Parker, some unmarked graves were identified. Other burials
have been identified by family members. At that time there were 27 graves 
with wooden stakes, and 1 unmarked grave under the cedar tree.
