All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** The location of the Cemetary is as follows : Go approximately 11 miles west of Leesville on highway 8 to Wesley Eaves road #3038 on your left, take a left here. The road is gravel / dirt and is well maintained. Drive down this road until you come to the last house on the left and the road veers right, go about seventy five yards and the road opens into a clearing with the Cemetary on the right. The cemetary is well maintained with a chain link fence surrounding it. The surrounding property was the original homesite of Robert Jason and Martha Elizabeth McFaddin Stephens who came to Vernon Parish in 1854 on a wagon train from Coffee County, Alabama. His brothers , George H. and wife Martha Kizziah Stafford, Thomas W. and wife Elizabeth C. Spieghts also settled in the area at that time. Robert served in the Civil War as a private, in Company C, 27th Loiusiana Inf. He was a farmer.
