TEMPLE BURIAL (Lost) - Vernon Parish


This single burial is located on the old Mims Creek, near the J. Peavy 
property, in the Simpson Community. Unfortunately a tombstone was never 
placed at the site, and the location is now lost. 

Temple, Leonidas - born ca 1798 NC / died ca 1882-3 

These additional genealogical notes about the family were provided by 
Billy H. Parker of Simpson LA, and Jane McManus of Ocala FL: 

Leonidas Temple was married ca 1851 to Martha J. Harmon, daughter of
Jacob Harmon & Catherine (?). Only five children are known: 

1) Leonidas Temple - born 1852, married to Araminta J. Jackson (both 
buried in Welcome Cemetery, Simpson LA). 

2) Sidney - born 22 Apr 1857, married to Mary Jane Campbell (both buried 
in Pine Island Cemetery, Simpson LA). 

3) Martha Jane - born 28 Feb 1862, married to Robert Augustus Jackson 
(both buried in Pine Island Cemetery, Simpson LA). 

4) Mary Alice Temple - born 3 Oct 1865, married to Adam Bennett (both 
buried in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Simpson LA). 

5) Lethy Ann Temple - born 1871 (no information).
