Whittaker Cemetery - Vernon Parish, Louisiana Submitted by Jane McManus ********************************************** Copyright. I would recommend a guide to anyone who attempts to visit this area. If that is not possible, start in the town of Hornbeck, and turn West onto LA Hwy. 392. After about 3.0 miles, you will pass the Self Cemetery on the left. Continue on this highway until you pass Gibbs Rd. on the right, and go to the next fork. Turn right onto unimproved road for a short distance and then turn back left. At the next fork, a sign in a tree on the right fork indicates "Old Cemetery." The three gravestones can be seen in the center of the fork among the brush and grass.
