McCollough November 24, 1915 Source: Book 38 Pg 149 Written: November 24, 1915 Recorded: December 10, 1915 State of Louisiana } Parish of Vernon } That on this day personally came and appeared before me, the undersigned authority, James Cavanaugh, a responsible person, who being by me first duly sworn deposes and says: That he is intimately acquainted with the following named persons and their families and have known them for a number of years and knows of his own personally knowledge that when James B. McCollough acquired title to the W 1/2 of SW 1/4 of Section 8 being that portion lying south of Castor Creek and all that portion of the NE 1/4 of SW 1/4 of Section 8, Twp 2 N R 8 west under date of January the 27th, 1899, and sold said property to William Wiley under date of May the 28th, 1900, the said James B McCollough was a married man living with his first and only wife. Affiant further deposes and says that when Wm. Wiley acquired title and all of that portion of the W 1/2 of SW 1/4 of Section 8, lying and being south of Castor Creek. Also all that portion of the NE 1/4 of SW 1/4 of Section 8 lying south of Castor Creek, all in Twp 2 N R 8 W, he was a widower when he purchased said land and a widower when he sold the same to Wm. A. McGregor on December 20th, 1902, and having not married during the time he acquired and sold said property. Affiant further deposes and says that when William A. McGregor acquired title to the tract of land situated south of Castor Creek in W 1/2 of SW 1/4, NE 1/4 of SW 1/4 of Sec 8 Twp 2 N R 8 West, under date of December 20th, 1902, and also NW 1/4 of NW 1/4 of Section 17, Twp 2 N R 8 West, under date of November 14th, 1905, and also SE 1/4 of NE 1/4 of NE 1/4 of Section 18, all in Twp 2 N R 8 West, and sold said property to Mrs. Ella Williams under date of March 21st, 1907, he was married and living with his first and only wife and there being no change in the community existing under the law. Affiant further deposes and says: That Mrs. Arrella A. McGregor wife of William A. McGregor as shown at page 20 of the Abstract and Mrs. Aurilla McGregor are one and the same person.
