Twenty-five students received diplomas at that time. Commencement address was given by Rev. Geo. L. Parks, supervisor of schools. The presentation of diplomas was made by T.J. Farris, president of the Vernon Parish School Board. Eloise Bivens was selected as valedictorian and Z.T. Craft was salutatorian. Other honor students were: Elnora Snell, Laurine Caswell, Vessie Prewitt, Homer Dixon, Alma Williams and Gwendolyn Dixon. This was the largest graduating class in the history of the school, at that time. The baccalaureate sermon was delivered Sunday night, May 17 at 8 o'clock in the school auditorium by Rev. Vernon A. Hammond of Leesville. The following students were in the graduating class: Alma Williams, Mary Alice Conerly, Z.T. Craft, Eloice Bivens, Gwendolyn Dixon, Kenneth Dixon, Thelma Davis, Melonea Franklin, Vessie Prewitt, Opal Trap, Homer Dixon, Jessie Scoggins, Orvan Dixon, Georgia Trap, Bobbie Cain, Hollis Wright, Odus Fitts, Delta Mae Crowe, Beulah McInnis, John G. Foster, Laurine Caswell, Fred Lou LaCaze, Elnora Snell and Edsel Davis.
