BEFORE ME, the undersigned authority, on this day personally came and appeared NATHAN S. SMART, who being by me first duly sworn deposed and says: That he is Seventy years of age; that he is well acquainted with Wesley A. Jackson, who, with affiant joined Martin's Company "K", 6th Louisiana Cavalry, in the year 1864; that the said Wesley A. Jackson joined said company in Rapides Parish, Now Vernon, where said company was stationed; that affiant joined said company at about the same time as the said Wesley A. Jackson; that the said Wesley A. Jackson served in said company continuously until he was transferred to the TEXADA COMPANY, from which time affiant does not know of his own personal knoweldge the facts of his further service. N.S.
