C.S.A. and the name W.A. Jackson has not been found on rolls of Co. D Cresent Reg't La Inf. covering period from Mch. 5, 1862 to Aug. 31, 1863, nor has any record been found of the service capture or parole of a man of that name as of said organizations. - Prisoner of war records show, however that a man named W. Jackson, pvt in Co. D, Consolidated Cresent Reg't La., surrendered at New Orleans, La. May 26, 1865 and was paroled at Alexandria, La., June 15&16, 1865 H T illegible The Adjutant General.
