Dowden a resident of the Parish of Natchitoches and who is the present assessor of the Parish of Natchitoches who being by me first duly sworn deposes and says that he is well and personally acquainted with Mr. W.A. Jackson of Leesville, Vernon Parish La. and that he knows that the said W.A. Jackson was a member of Company D of the Consolidated Cresent Regiment Infantry, of the Confederate State during the Civil War. That he the said S.G. Dowden was a member of the same Regiment and Company, and he know of his own personal knowledge the facts above set out. He further avers that the said W.A. Jackson who served in said Company and Regiment, and the W.A. Jackson who is now applying for a pension is one and the same man.
