BEFORE ME, the undersigned authority, on this day personally came and appeared JAMES P. WARRICK, who being by me first duly sworn deposed and says: That he is eighty-one years of age; and was a member of Co. "C", Cresent Regiment, Louisiana volunteers; that he is well acquainted with Wesley A. Jackson, who was a member of Company "D", Cresent Regiment, Louisiana Volunteers, with Captain Jack Self in command of said company. That the said Wesley A. Jackson was in the service for over a year prior to the surrender, and was still active service and in the Army at the time of the surrender: That at the close of the war and after the surrender, Company "D" was stationed at Grand E'Core, near Natchitoches, where it disbanded, and from which place the said Wesley A.
