Editor Daily Town Talk:
Dear Editor - On last Saturday night, near Homer, in 
Angelina Co., Texas, our Sheriff captured Allen Scarber, 
and now has him in jail at this place. It will be remembered 
that Scarber shot and killed Wm. Lot in this parish about 
one month since.

Sheriff Conerly deserves credit for his good work and scientific
trailing in this case.

Note: Allen Scarber (1846-1888) is believed to be buried at Angola 
Prison. He was the son of John and Lucinda Scarber. He was the 
husband of Elizabeth Rebecca Watson.
