All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ************************************************** Vergie Bass Funeral services for Mrs. Vergie Bass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2002 at Gravel Hill Baptist Church with the Revs. Jim Spencer, James Johnson, and Dale Miller officiating. Burial will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Pineville. Mrs. Bass, 82, of Pineville died Sunday, September 22, 2002 at her residence. Mrs. Bass was a retired supervisor for Elizabeth Bag Mill. She was a member of Kingsville Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Luster Bass son, Ronald Bass parents, Wavy and Artemeas Thompson James and a brother, C. W. James. Survivors include five daughters, Margie M. Bass of Alexandria, Sue Bass Mitchell of Hooks, Texas, Lutherine B. Ashworth of Rosepine, Nita B. Norlander of Pineville, and Linda B. Gates of Pineville four sons, Julus V. Bass of Livingston, Texas, Homer Bass of Monroe, Larry Bass of Rosepine, and Donald Bass of Leesville two sisters, Betty Ruth Calcote and Lucille Day both of DeRidder 26 grandchildren, 36 great- grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jimmie Ashworth, Jeff Iber, Donnie Bass, Chuckie Glaze, James Bass, and John Bass. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Andrus, James R. Beebe, Kevin Willis, and Brandon Willis.
