All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ************************************************** July 27, 2003 Leonard Bass Funeral services for Mr. Leonard "Lynn" Bass will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2003, in the Gravel Hill Baptist Church with the Revs. Arlin Smith and Sherman Busby officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of the Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville. Mr. Bass, 80, of Pitkin died Thursday, July 24, 2003, in the Oakdale Community Hospital in Oakdale. He was a World War II veteran, a lifetime member of the American Legion, a Purple Heart and Bronze Star recipient and a retired civil servant of 33 years at Fort Polk. He was a member of the Gravel Hill Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nola Faye Bass, one son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Brenda Bass; one daughter and son-in-law, Diana Bass and David Blencke; five grandchildren, Alicia Blencke, Charles Blencke, Samantha Blencke, Luke Bass and Haley Bass, and two sisters, Alice Corley and Versie Green. Visitation will be held from 8-11 a.m. Sunday in the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until time of service Sunday in the church.
