Gladys Carroll 
Funeral services for Mrs. Gladys J. Carroll, 88, of Pitkin will be held 
at 2 p.m. today, May 27, 2003 in the Gravel Hill Baptist Church with 
the Revs. James W. Johnson and Carroll Teal officiating. Burial will 
follow in the church cemetery under the direction of the Hixson Funeral 
Home of Leesville. Visitation will be held until time of service today 
in the church. Mrs. Carroll died Saturday, May 24, in Cravens. She was 
a native and lifelong resident of the Pitkin-Cravens area, a homemaker 
and longtime member of the Gravel Hill Baptist Church. She was preceded 
in death by her husband, William "Barney" Carroll. Survivors include 
one daughter, Geraldine Newhouse of Pitkin; one sister, Dezie Gill of 
Buna, Texas; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
