Carver Passes Away at Simpson Christmas Morning Submitted by Belford E. Carver C.G. Carver Passes Away at Simpson Christmas Morning C(alvin) G(reen) Carver, over 81 years old, did (sic) at the home of his son, G.R. Carver, at Simpson, Christmas morning at five minutes past one o'clock. He was sick only a few days, leakage of the heart being his ailment. He was buried Saturday, December 26th, in the Welcome cemetery after appropriate funeral services by Rev. Tom Behan. Deceased had resided in Vernon Parish 50 years. For many years he resided on Prairie Creek , four miles west of Leesville. He is survived by seven sons, namely, G.R. Carver, Simpson; T.E. Carver, Barham; J.G. Carver, Marshall Carver and Monroe Carver, Simpson; W.T. and Jim Carver, of Beaumont, Texas. He also leaves two daughters, Mrs. Julia A. Jeane and Mrs. Fannie Simmons, both of Leesville. Calvin Green Carver, son of Robert William and Sarah Ann Russell Carver, was born July 3, 1850, probably in MS. He died December 25, 1931. His wives were Mary Elizabeth Westmoreland, Harriet C. Gill, and Katherine R. Hughes. The first two are buried at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, New Illano; and the last, Welcome at Simpson. Belford Carver Hammond, LA
