Joyce I. Dowden
(August 28, 1932 - June 25, 2013) 

Funeral services for Joyce I. Dowden, 80, of Leesville, Louisiana will 
be held at 2:00 pm Friday, June 28, 2013, at the Labby Memorial Funeral 
Home Chapel in Leesville with Bro. George Kappaz & Rev. Gary Bankston 
officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, in Hornbeck 
under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 27th from 5 pm - 9 pm, and then 
on Friday, June 28th, from 8 am until service time in the chapel.

Joyce, the daughter of George and Ellen Huden Worsham was born August 
28, 1932, in Chatham, VA. She passed away Tuesday, June 25th at her 
residence in Leesville.

She was preceded in death by husband, Mason Dowden; son, Ronald Dowden 
and daughter, Kathleen Dowden.

Mrs. Dowden loved to cook and she always had her home open for anyone;
she never met a stranger. Joyce loved to travel and was a member of 
Campers On Mission. Her family was everything to her and she enjoyed 
family functions.

She is survived by her sons, Richard Dowden of Sulpher, LA, Michael & 
wife, Irma Dowden of Huntsville, TX & James & wife, Lisa Dowden of 
Bossier City, LA; daughters, Debra & husband, Terry Pruitt of Leesville, 
LA & Diane & husband, Kenneth Bailey of Leesville, LA; brother, Landon 
Worsham of VA; sister, Jean Carson of VA; seventeen grandchildren and 
sixteen great grandchildren.
