Military rites will be conducted by the Fort Polk Honor Guards. Committal services will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery in Cravens, under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale. Mr. Eaves, 75, entered eternal rest on Thursday, October 5, 2006 in the VA Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. He was born on October 5, 1931 to the union of Clifton and Evie Johnson Eaves in Glenmora. He was a Baptist by faith, a cross-country truck driver, a veteran of the United States Army, a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend. Preceding him in death were his parents, Clifton and Evie Eaves; one daughter, Gilda Eaves; three sisters, Velma Johnson, Shirley Pollard and Margaret Willis and two grandchildren, Aaron Talis and Nicholas Talis. He leaves behind his loving family to cherish his memories, two daughters, Wanda Talis and husband Jim of Kannapolis, North Carolina and JoAnnia Eaves of Sandy Hill; two sons, Gilbert E. Eaves and wife Robyn of Milan, New Mexico and Albert W. Eaves of Raleigh, North Carolina; six sisters, Willie Mae Rutherford of Woodward, Oklahoma, Vonnie Vee Hendrickson, and Jo Beth Welch both of Oakdale, Lavonne Calcote of Pitkin, Trudy Mae Goleman of Hineston, and Barbara Neal of Terrell, Texas; two brothers, Larry Eaves of Woodward, OK, and Gaylon Eaves of El Rino, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Angelina Eaves, Natasha Eaves, Brooke Eaves, Rodney Circle and Kasey Eaves; and two great grandchildren, Destiny West and Billy Ray West, Jr. Pallbearers honored to serve will be James West, Ronald West, LeeLee Ashworth, Robert Lee Willis, Abner Taylor, Ray Rutherford, Jeffery Nolen and Will Eaves.
