Donis "Granny" Gordy
(October 2, 1908 - April 11, 2012) 

Donis “Granny” Gordy,103, of Cody, Wyoming, died peacefully 
April 11, 2012, at Powell Valley Care Center in Powell, WY.
Mrs. Gordy was a Charter Member of Eastern Star Chapter 26 and a 
Charter Member of Simpson Baptist Church.

She is survived by daughters, Edyth Nell Murry of Westlake, LA,
Janis & husband Herbert Holder of Cody, WY and Norita & husband 
Marshall Helton of Slagle, LA; brother, Roy Berry of Texas; 10 
grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and two great-great 
grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Marshall Gordy; 
brothers, Harold Berry and J. M. Berry and sisters, Vivian 
Waskom, Bertress Stewart and Demple Lawrence.

Visitation will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 21st at Simpson 
Baptist Church with a memorial service at 11:00 AM at the 
church. Burial will follow in the Welcome Cemetery. Arrangements 
are under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in 
Leesville, LA.

Donis asked that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be 
made to the Cody Senior Citizens Center, 613 16th St., Cody, WY, 
82414, or Powell Valley Health Care, 999 Ave G, Powell, WY, 
82435.
