Haymon Funeral services for Doris M. Haymon, 87, of Pitkin will be Tuesday, June 17 at 3 p.m. in the Gravel Hill Baptist Church in Cravens with the Rev. Arlen Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Blue Branch Cemetery in Pitkin under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Haymon died Saturday, June 14 in the Beauregard Memorial Hospital in DeRidder. She was born in Kosse, Texas, and resided in the Pine Grove Community in Texas before moving to Pitkin in 1965. She was a retired Registered Nurse and served in the Naval Nurse Corps during World War II. She attended St. Mary's School of Nursing at Oakdale General Hospital and had worked at Bayne Jones Army Community Hospital at Fort Polk. She was a member of Gravel Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Narie Haymon of Pitkin; four daughters, Nina Marlin of Pitkin, Barbara Baird of Colmesneil, Texas, Lorena Martin of Texas City, Texas, and June Boughton of Oakdale. She had 12 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. on Tuesday in the Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder and from 1 p.m. until the time of service at Gravel Hill Baptist Church in Cravens.
