Funeral services for Alvie James Jr., 61, of Pitkin will be held at 2 
p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2002, in Glade Branch Baptist Church of Pitkin 
with the Revs. Ed Basco and Arlon Smith officiating. Burial will follow 
in the Gravel Hill Cemetery of Cravens under the direction of Rush 
Funeral Home of Oakdale. James died Thursday, May 23, at the Christus- 
St. Frances Cabrini Hospital of Alexandria. He was a lifelong resident 
of Pitkin and a member of Glade Branch Baptist church. He was a truck 
driver for 41 years. Survivors include two daughters, Remonda Fee of 
Pitkin and Angelia Whitmore of Singer; his mother, Dollie James of 
Pitkin; and four grandchildren. Friends may call from 11 a.m. Friday 
until time of the service at Glade Branch Baptist Church.
